Privacy policy

Plain English, not fine print — what we collect, why, who else might see it, and how to opt out of anything, any time.

Start here

The short version

In plain English

  • We only ask for what we need to get back to you and do the job — usually just your name and contact details.
  • If you give us your details through this website, we may also use them to send you offers, reminders or news about Sunnyside — as well as replying to your enquiry.
  • Opt out any time — email hello@sunnysidepoolservices.com.au and we'll stop.
  • If you message us or interact with us on Facebook or Instagram, Meta collects information about that too, under its own privacy policy.
  • We never sell your information to anyone.

Collection

What we collect

When you get in touch, we collect what you give us. Through our contact form, that's typically your name, email and message, plus your phone number and suburb if you choose to add them. If you call, text or email us directly, we keep whatever you tell us — the same as any small business would, to follow up and get the job done.

Like most websites, ours also uses Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager, which collect general information about how people use the site — pages viewed, rough location, device type — so we can see what's working. This is aggregate information, not used to identify you personally.

If you interact with us on Facebook or Instagram, we can see and collect the details you've shared with us there too — see "Facebook, Instagram and other platforms" below.

Use

How we use it

We use your information to:

  • reply to your enquiry and work out what your pool needs;
  • provide quotes, and schedule and deliver work;
  • keep basic records for invoicing and job history;
  • confirm whether you're in our service area; and
  • if you've given us your details through this website, get in touch about offers, reminders or updates about Sunnyside — unless you've told us not to.

Marketing

Marketing — and how to opt out

The part most privacy policies bury. Here it is upfront.

If you enter your details, here's what that means

If you fill in our contact form, or otherwise give us your details, we may use your name, email and/or phone number to market to you — things like seasonal reminders, offers, or news about Sunnyside — in addition to replying about whatever you originally got in touch about.

You can opt out whenever you like. Email hello@sunnysidepoolservices.com.au and tell us to stop — we'll action it directly, no forms and no phone tree.

Social platforms

Facebook, Instagram and other platforms

We use Facebook and Instagram to stay in touch with customers and show our work. If you message us, comment on a post, follow us, or otherwise interact with @sunnysidepoolservices on either platform, we can see and collect what you've shared with us there — your profile details and whatever you've sent through.

Separately, Meta (the company behind Facebook and Instagram) collects its own information about you whenever you use their platforms, including when you view or interact with our page or any ads we run. That collection happens under Meta's privacy policy, not ours — see Meta's Privacy Policy for how they handle it.

Third parties

Who else sees it

We don't sell your information to anyone. A small number of others help us run the website and business, and see relevant information as part of that:

  • Netlify, who host this website and deliver contact-form submissions to us;
  • Google, through Analytics and Tag Manager, for website usage data; and
  • Meta, through Facebook and Instagram, as described above.

Storage & your rights

Keeping it secure, and your choices

We keep your information for as long as it's actually useful — while you're an active or regular client, or for a reasonable period after an enquiry in case you follow up — then delete it. We take reasonable steps to keep what we hold secure, though no method of storing or sending information online is completely risk-free.

You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it — and you can opt out of marketing at any time. For any of that, email hello@sunnysidepoolservices.com.au.
